Dr. Jamie Hickman is the founder of Jamie Hickman Consulting LLC, a consulting practice spanning higher education administration and nonprofit development, and a retired U.S. Army officer with 24 years of service. Her areas of expertise include public sector strategy, federal partnerships and acquisition strategy, institutional funding strategy, mission-aligned program architecture, and defense and academic systems integration. She is also the founder of Chameleon Kids LLC, a print publishing company. Dr. Hickman provides research consulting to numerous universities, including the University of Chicago, and serves on several boards, including an Institutional Review Board (IRB), a medical board, and serves as Vice Chair of the Adjunct Professor Advisory Board at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Dr. Hickman has over 15 years of teaching experience. She first taught English at Pyeongtaek University in South Korea during her service there. She later taught several courses at Central Texas College, Camp Humphreys, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the University of Maryland Global Campus. These included Program and Career Exploration in Business, Fundamentals of Small Unit Operations, and Styles of Leadership.
Dr. Hickman earned her Ed.D. in adult learning and leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2024. Her education also includes a master's degree in defense and strategic studies from the United States Naval War College and an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
